Former Inter striker who’s now in Greece playing with AEK Athens, Marko Livaja looks back on his time at Inter as he took some time to speak to Sportske Novosti.
The main topic of the interview was based on his departure from Hajduk Split when he was just 16 years old. Livaja hoped that the transfer would have worked out differently than it had when asked if he would have made the same decision again: “difficult to say, but they helped me to grow. It is not easy to settle down when you are always loaned and do not stay with continuity. I had good times in my career, but maybe I would not make that move. I would probably have decided to stay one more year in Split to try and prove my worth, but not even the Hajduk offered me great possibilities.
“After my scholarship contract was over, they did not call me to talk to them, they only called me after I had chosen to sign with Inter. I was disappointed, but life goes on” Livaja continued.
He also spoke about the moment that could have changed his career at Inter: “When I played Inter vs Genoa I missed a goal in the 93rd by hitting the post. If I had scored, everything would have went better.”
