Milan Skriniar has dismissed claims that Inter are Juventus’s principal rivals for the Scudetto this season and has encouraged the Nerazzurri to concentrate on themselves.

Skriniar was an unused substitute in Slovakia’s 3-0 friendly win over Denmark on Wednesday and told reporters after the match that he has no preference between Luciano Spalletti’s side using a back three and a back four, as well as commenting Inter’s negative start to the 2018-19 season.

“We wanted to get off to a better start but that’s football, these things can happen,” he told Sport Mediaset. “Now we just have to focus on winning as many games as possible.

“Back three or back four? We’ve used both systems in our first two games of the season, it doesn’t make much of a difference because we’re well prepared [with both].

“We’re not the anti-Juventus, no one here has ever said that. We’re Inter, a great team, but it’s not a one-on-one battle with Juventus. We’re a strong side and we’re playing for ourselves.”
