Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has issued a hands off warning for coveted Frenkie de Jong and ruled out the midfielder or any other players from the Amsterdam club leaving during the January transfer window.

“None of our players will leave in January. The offers we have received so far for de Jong have not satisfied us because they have not respected his true value,” Overmars declared on the sidelines of the annual Ajax Kick Off event when questioned by journalists.

de Jong is regarded as one of not only the top Dutch prospects but also worldwide prospects. The 21-year-old central midfielder has attracted interest from Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur on top of the interest believed to exist from Inter.

The Dutch international is expected to be valued in excess of €50 million by the Ajax management, who are understandably eager to keep a hold of one of their top talents.
