Zlatko Dalic, the manager of the Croatian national team, has spoken on Inter’s Sime Vrsaljko’s condition after the full back was forced off the field just 20 minutes in to the 6-0 defeat to Spain last night.
“He has an injury, it is a knee problem and it was better for him to come off the pitch before the situation got worse. He has been dealing with it for a while and in a couple of days we will then see if everything is ok,” Dalic confirmed in an interview with New TV.
Dalic, who deployed a new look Croatia side following several international retirements, is also of the belief that the World Cup runners-up’ downfall last night in Elche, Spain, began once the 26-year-old left the field with his injury.
“We played very good in first 20 minutes but when we lost Vrsaljko there was no fight or aggression on our behalf.”
