With Lautaro currently sidelined and Icardi set to return tomorrow from his American trip, Keita Baldé has a strong chance of starting as the lone striker in the match against Parma, already having some experience in this role having played there against Bologna.
After the goal scored for Senegal, Spalletti expects him to begin to his many attributes in Italy again, such as speed, dribbling and passing. Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport also emphasises that “Spalletti asks him to go back to scoring in Serie A. Having had some time to adjust after the first three league games.”
In the last few games with the Nerazzurri, the 23-year-old Senegalese played about twenty minutes from the wing both in his debut with Sassuolo and against Torino, then he had the chance to be the starting striker with Bologna.
In the previous matches there were a few wasted chances as a substitute, the two errors at to the Dall’Ara and then the substitution. Inter now needs Keita to be decisive again, as he showed whilst at Lazio above all and at times, even in the only year he played at Monaco.
“Waiting for Icardi to be back at full fitness, Keita will have to lead the attack by himself, alongside Perisic and Politano, with Nainggolan behind them, and at the San Siro on Saturday afternoon he is very likely to be the starter and behind him the trio of Politano Radja and Perisic will play” the Gazzetta confirms.
