After the goalless draw between Argentina and Colombia in New Jersey, Inter captain Mauro Icardi was optimistic when he analysed the friendly fixture.
The Nerazzurri captain was also satisfied with regards to his own performance stating that: “We played a good game and we turned the national team into a collective group. Personally I felt good and I did what the coach asked me to do. The injury has passed, I trained all week and I did not notice anything strange in the field, I missed the goal only by a few centimeters, but I’m happy and I know that sooner or later it will go in.”
In conclusion Icardi stated that “With my club I do what I have to do and here in the national team I want to confirm the same commitment. I am always waiting and eager for the opportunity to play with the Seleccion, it was a pity not to have been a part of the World Cup but now I head back to Inter, with important matches ahead of us.”
