After the friendly with Colombia, Icardi has now made five appearances for La Seleccion but has yet to find the back of the net. Next month Argentina play Brazil in a friendly in Saudi Arabia and Icardi will more than likely be presented with another opportunity to score.

The good news to come from Icardi’s involvement over the international break is that he has shown himself to be fit and therefore can be considered for selection for Saturday afternoon’s encounter with Parma at San Siro.

The 25-year-old striker arrived on international duty carrying an injury that kept him out of Inter’s 3-0 win over Bologna two weeks ago and missed the first friendly against Guatemala. He did however prove his fitness and played 85 minutes of the friendly against Colombia.
