Inter captain Mauro Icardi spoke with Fox Sports after the goalless draw between Argentina and Colombia in New Jersey.

The former Barcelona and Sampdoria striker stated that: “I came here with a few minor physical problems, but being a part of the national team is important and despite the problems I came hoping for the same experience. I took care of myself and I played almost the whole game against Colombia.”

Icardi was asked about if he had asked to wear the number 9 jersey to which replied: “the coach will decide who will wear it in the future.”

Icardi is yet to score for Argentina having made five appearances for the Albiceleste, however he has in recent times found it difficult to break into the squad and was not called up for the recent world cup in Russia.

The Nerazzurri skipper seems to have overcome the small injury which kept him out of the recent Serie A match against Bologna and is expected to play at least some part against Parma on Saturday.
