Gazzetta dello Sport have examined Inter captain Mauro Icardi’s goalless start to the campaign.

“It is not up for debate that he will not score but Inter manager Luciano Spalletti is looking for the most suitable formula to get him to score,” the Milan based newspaper details.

“In the box he is ruthless and often unmarked but he needs service to get on the end of in the first place. Inter are missing a number 10 to provide in this aspect. Therefore, Ivan Perisic will be decisive whether it be from the wing or a more central role in providing for Icardi. Wingers Matteo Politano and Keita Balde too can open things up with their dribbling ability even if they are not as decisive as Antonio Candreva when it comes to assisting on goals. Radja Nainggolan can meanwhile use his power to help out.

“Spalletti knows that to get the most from Icardi, balls must be played in to the box and that Icardi will not succeed when having to drop 20 metres back to get the ball.”
