It is a known fact that Inter is missing a midfielder, despite the recent excellent transfer market campaign this past summer. Luciano Spalletti will be forced to deploy somewhat makeshift midfield that can act as a glue between defence and midfield for the duration of the season.

It is no coincidence therefore, that names of possible market objectives are already starting to circulate even if it is only September, to fill the gap left by the failure to fulfill the dream of acquiring Luka Modric over the summer. One of those names is that of Hector Herrera, the Porto midfielder whose contract expires in June 2019.

According to FcInterNews.it however, the search for a player in that role is not the priority at this point in time, since the season has only just begun. In addition, the Mexican midfielder Herrera, was not sought after by Inter, but rather, was proposed by his entourage to the Nerazzurri leadership, however he currently does not align with the technical plans of the club so a transfer remains extremely unlikely at this stage.
