Despite the long journey back from the United States and having still not been in training for Inter this week, Mauro Icardi could well still start for the Nerazzurri as they play host to Parma on Saturday afternoon.

Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has considered resting the captain in view of Tuesday’s Champions League opener with Tottenham Hotspur and has trialled Keita Balde as a striker in training.

However, the Turin based newspaper go on to remind that Inter need to make up for the lost points even at this early stage of the season and could really do with the victory and should not put that at risk by deploying a weakened team.

Should Icardi tell Spalletti he is in fact ready to play, it can not be ruled out that Spalletti scraps the idea of Keita Balde as a striker and deploys Maurito – who is still looking for his first goal this season – in his place.
