Former Inter defender Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Baresi dismissed comparing Inter to their city rivals Milan when speaking in an interview with FCInterNews.it on the sidelines of the presentation of the new partnership with Birra Peroni.

“Are Inter superior to their Milanese cousins? I do not wish to talk about Milan. I am here to talk about Inter who have a good squad and a coach who knows what he wants. They started like they did but I think there is everything there to see a good Inter after the break.”

Baresi spent some 16 years on the books of Inter between 1976 and 1992 and made over 400 appearances in an Inter shirt during that time.

The partnership, that is also with Milan, sees Peroni become the official beer of each club going forward. The partnership agreement was presented at San Siro with several directors from all parties involved there as well as some former players such as Baresi and former Inter defender Fabio Galante.
