In today’s paper edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the outlet reports that Inter and Marcelo Brozovic are only steps away from a contract renewal.

According to the Roman newspaper, the only thing missing for this contract extension is the official announcement. Inter and Brozovic have found an agreement that satisfies all parties involved. The Croatian midfielder has become a key player for Luciano Spalletti and has shown improvements in his performances and consistency since last season. Along with giving Brozovic a new role, Spalletti also helped improve his overall maturity and gave the Croatian a whole new purpose, all of these changes were seen during the second half of last season and also during Croatia’s race to the World Cup final this Summer.

Brozovic has accepted the extension until 2021 and has earned an increase of about 500 thousand euros for a total of 3 million euros a year. This puts him in line with Borja Valero, Vecino, Joao Mario, Handanovic, Asamoah, and Miranda.
