Tottenham Hotspur striker and talisman Harry Kane has insisted he is fit despite paper talk suggesting otherwise and is aware that as a team they must improve after two defeats in a row.

“I feel sharp and fit. If I wasn’t, then the manager wouldn’t pick me. People are always going to be looking for stuff, especially when you are a big part of the team and someone who is there to get the goals,” he said in an interview with British tabloid The Sun.

“As a team we can all do better. We have been saying it since the start of the season. We have a strong squad and the gaffer did not want to sign players for the sake of it. It showed huge trust in the players and we have to repay it. Energy wise there was no fatigue, but we have not been good enough with the ball.

“I know we won our first three games but the Watford defeat was disappointing because of the attitude and energy. It was unlike us to lose like that. The harmony is there, everyone is pushing each other, driving each other, but you go through spells in seasons.”

He concluded the interview by looking toward the match with Inter and knows that a win could really boost morale.

“Nobody likes to lose big games and now we have another big game against Inter. If we win that we boost our confidence. When we get into a rhythm and play game after game, that’s what I like – and I can get into positions where you know where to score goals. We can change the momentum and get results again.”
