Inter legend Esteban Cambiasso analysed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League and what it will do for Inter’s players from a mental point of view going forward after an up and down start to the campaign.

“Certainly from the psychological aspect a breakthrough should take place because those moments leave you with an incredibly positive feeling,” the Argentine said in the Sky Sport studios.

Cambiasso, who won the competition will with the club as part of the famous triplete, then spoke on the fans.

“It looked like a dark night where the fans supported the team but that the result was not what they had hoped for nor was how the team played on the pitch, but in the end everyone went home with huge happiness.”

He concluded the interview by stating he is convinced Kwadwo Asamoah meant to hit the ball where he did for Mauro Icardi’s equalising goal.

“The cross for the goal was spectacular but it must be emphasised that Kwadwo Asamoah wanted to put the ball there.”
