Inter’s winning goalscorer Matias Vecino addressed the gathered media in the mixed zone following Inter’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

“This has been a great success for us, it will give us great confidence going forward. We must continue to work like this because the season is long. We must take the positive things of today’s match to start again in the league. We have to do it right away so we do not leave more points behind.”

The Uruguayan then spoke on the winning goal, which was his second important goal late on in a match in recent months.

“It was nice that it decided an important game that had become difficult. I do not score so many goals so for me they are all important. I hope to score other goals that are decisive, like that of tonight and that of the Olimpico.”

Vecino was then questioned about coming up against Barcelona but he was more interested in the next match with PSV Eindhoven in the competition.

“All games in the Champions League will be complex. Barcelona is a great team but let’s deal with them when we have to face them, first there is another match before and wish to do well in it.”
