Italian pundit Mario Sconcerti reflected on Inter’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League last night, something he believes was not deserved, in his column for Corriere della Sera.

“It was an unexpected comeback which was complex and very beautiful. Inter did not deserve to win though. Inter were inferior but managed to stay in the game despite being out of it technically for spells of the game. In the end they won with two individual feats and one last big push from the whole team while the English sides players were tired. What we seen was a different Inter, even in the league they have never had such fortune. You need to enjoy these games for what they give, even in the future, not for what they show.”

Sconcerti also believes that this match showcased what the Champions League will be all about this season.

“I think the game was a small summary of what the Champions League that will be this year, a match in front of great crowd between two imperfect teams, each with limits.”
