Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his Spurs side deserved more from the game with Inter in the Champions League in which they lost 2-1 with thanks to a late headed goal from Matias Vecino.

“It is not clear how that goal came about. We were defending well. We conceded these goals but we played better than them overall and I feel we deserved more from the game. In football these things happen, they went all out in the last few minutes and we were not able do it.

Despite losing and extending their losing streak to three games across all competitions, the Argentine coach thinks there can still be positives taken from the way the side performed at a near capacity San Siro.

“I think that we can be happy with our performance but I am not happy with the result, but as I have said things like this can happen in football.”
