After suffering a loss at San Siro to Inter in the first game of Champions League, Tottenham Hotspur’s Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele has tried to explain how Spurs managed to lose the game that they had firmly in their grasp up until the final ten minutes.

Spurs were leading 1-0 until Icardi scored a game tying goal in the 86th minute and Matias Vecino decided once again that he would like to save Inter late on following his heroics against Lazio.

“I think we played well, we were very disciplined, but I think we should have killed it off earlier. Having lost all three points is a disappointing result and obviously it was a missed opportunity. We have to get up again because there have been many positive aspects and we have to continue. We can not allow the situation to remain that way, I understand that we are all disappointed, but we have to change and there is not too much time to do it.”
