Joao Mario could be set to be given a chance at redemption by Inter manager Luciano Spalletti as Inter’s schedule crams up according to a report from Tuttosport.
The Portuguese midfielder seemed destined to leave San Siro during the transfer window having given a scathing review of Italian football earlier in the summer but has impressed Spalletti and co. with his commitment in training despite these comments and has staked a claim for a place in the team as a result.
Not on the UEFA Champions League squad list, Spalletti could opt to bring the 25-year-old in for league games in order to give some of Inter’s players that are on the list a much needed rest ahead of the big matches. Inter have games with Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Cagliari in the coming weeks domestically and the Turin based newspaper believe it would not be a surprise in the slightest if he was to be called upon for these games.
