Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is continuing to work on his return from a calf injury and one of the main benefactors of his return in the eyes of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport could well be Inter club captain Mauro Icardi.

Lautaro managed to take part in all of yesterday’s training session and Luciano Spalletti could opt to play him against Sampdoria this Saturday at the Marassi.

With Lautaro returning, Icardi’s loneliness could be cured up top as he made just 16 touches of the ball during the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Argentine pair seemed to enjoy and find success in a partnership during pre-season and have a blossoming friendship off the pitch that could of course benefit their striking partnership also. The pair played together at Sassuolo on the opening night but have not played together since with Lautaro being benched and injured.
