Inter and club captain Mauro Icardi are not imminently set to agree to a new and improved contract according to a report from SportMediaset.

The report says that Icardi’s entourage is distant on the case because the renewal is not high up on their agenda of things to do.

Icardi has been contacted by some of the top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Paris St. Germain, and Juventus. All of them have offered the Argentinian striker a salary of above €10 million annually, nearly double what he is currently making at Inter which currently stands at €6 million.

Inter’s Sporting Director, Piero Ausilio plans to touch up the contract by extending it to 2023 and increase the release clause for foreign clubs from €110 million up to at least €130 million. Icardi’s position on the matter is well known to the Inter management. He is happy in Milan but expects a salary raise without forcing his hand too much.
