Sampdoria Return To Training Ahead Of Inter Match

Sampdoria returned to training after their midweek fixture that saw them draw 1-1 with Fiorentina ahead of this weekends match at home to Inter.

Both teams have played during the week. With Inter having played on Tuesday in their first Champions League match it puts them at a pretty even playing field in terms of fitness ahead of this weekend’s match as both teams will have some tired legs from fixture congestion.

Marco Giampaolo and his staff separated the squad into two different work groups who did different types of  training. The exhausted players from the Fiorentina match were in one group and their session lasted only an hour on the field. Absent from the squad was Vasco Regini, who left for Rome to be examined by Doctor Pier Paolo Mariani at Villa Stuart. Riccardo Saponara’s recovery programme continues as well. The squad will train again on Friday morning and the pre-match press conference will follow at 1pm.
