Treble winning hero Goran Pandev reminisces about his long career and the great memories he made with Inter to Sportweek.

Pandev was asked if he was more nostalgic about his time with Inter or Lazio to which he replied: “At Inter I won more, but Lazio helped me grow and allowed me to play in important games. I made my Champions League debut with Lazio. 2009 was a very difficult year, then in January I moved to Inter and won everything, the league, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia.”

The Genoa attacker was asked about his relationship with Jose Mourinho saying: “He’s the kind of coach that will help you, advise you, and defend you until his death if you give him everything. Benitez and I did not have a great relationship. He’d play you in one game then leave you out for the next three, then at the end of the year he would call you into his office and say “come on, I’ll show you how many minutes you’ve played.”

The former Lazio attacker was asked to name the best player he played with in his career: “Eto’o was a player who, if he wanted to, could win games by himself. Milito also made the difference that year. Dejan Stankovic was one of my dearest friends, when I arrived, helped me and my family a lot.”

In conclusion he was asked which his favorite goal during his time at Inter was stating that: “That’s easy, it was the goal that allowed us qualify for the quarterfinals of the Champions League.”
