Real Madrid have been at the center of the Summer transfer market. They are usually the center of attention when it comes to transfer windows anyway, but this time it was because of their outgoing transfers.

First, the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, then the deal that almost sent Luka Modric to Inter. In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Florentino Perez spoke about the sales and the ways in which these transfers can take place.

The Los Merengues President stated that “The redemption clauses placed in the players’ contracts are not always paid, they can be reduced, especially when a player tells us that he wants to leave, we can try to find a solution that satisfies all parties. For a sale to take place you have  to negotiate. Regarding Cristiano, he wanted to leave for personal reasons and we understood that, and after everything he had done for us over the years, we had to do our best to give him what he wanted.”
