Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar, Antonio Candreva and Kwadwo Asamoah received the highest scores in Tuttosport’s player ratings following Inter’s win over Sampdoria on Saturday evening.

Brozovic scored the stoppage-time goal that sealed the three points for Luciano Spalletti’s men and was awarded 7.5 by the Turin-based publication, who described him as a ‘magnet’ in midfield for the manner in which he kept getting on the ball.

However Skriniar and Asamoah also impressed in defence for the Nerazzurri, with the former in particular praised for ‘anaesthetising every potential Sampdoria attack’, while Spalletti’s decision to substitute Candreva late on was described as ‘a mystery’. All three received 7.

Fellow centre-back Miranda (who ‘played with the autopilot on’) was the next highest-rated player with 6.5, while Samir Handanovic (‘never called into action’) and Matias Vecino (‘revitalised after Tuesday’s winning goal against Tottenham’) were both given 6.

Matteo Politano and Danilo D’Ambrosio were less fortunate and got 5.5, while Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi (‘on the outskirts of the match’) got the worst two ratings of the evening with 5.
