Antonio Candreva looked like a ‘regenerated’ player during Inter’s win over Sampdoria on Saturday night, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Candreva received the highest score (7) in the Milanese publication’s player ratings following the match at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, which Luciano Spalletti’s men won 1-0 courtesy of a stoppage-time winner from Marcelo Brozovic, with the accompanying comment suggesting that the Italian ‘must be wondering why it’s always him that gets substituted’.

Marcelo Brozovic and Milan Skriniar received the next highest ratings on Sunday morning (6.5), while Samir Handanovic, Matias Vecino, Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Perisic and Keita Balde were all awarded 6.

Matteo Politano, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Miranda were rated less favourably with 5.5, but Mauro Icardi procured the lowest score of all with just 5/10, with the paper writing that “when he doesn’t score he becomes a problem.”

Borja Valero, meanwhile, did not receive a rating as he came on too late to be scored.
