Straight from the studios of Sky Sport, columnist Paolo Condo spoke about Inter’s victory in Genoa against Sampdoria. The journalist mainly focused on the lack of cohesion between two of Luciano Spalletti’s key players.

“The leap in quality has not been shown yet, and it would only come when there is an agreement and a stronger partnership between Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi.

“At the moment there is no signal and no connection between the two players – they need to find a way to make them click and work together, because they will be the key to unlocking defences and create goal-scoring opportunities.”

It is normal for players to take a certain amount of time before they gel and play like a team, especially considering Nainggolan has just arrived at Inter this Summer and spent a good portion of the start of the season out due to injury.

Given enough time, the players will begin to form a partnership as they start thinking on the same wavelength.
