Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has given the impression he feels his sending off after Marcelo Brozovic’s winning goal against Sampdoria was unjust in a post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“I let myself be overtaken by the enthusiasm, it was a difficult game and I celebrated towards the camera but the fourth official seen it. I did not do anything wrong, I just cheered.”

He proceeded to speak about Inter’s performance.

“The team played a great match tonight. In the first half we lost the ball too often. In the second half we had a great reaction and I think we won deservedly.

“I would like to congratulate the whole team on the performance. We showed great character, a great mentality and great spirit.”

VAR was called in to action and lead to three goals being disallowed and Spalletti concluded the interview by speaking on VAR.

“I am in favour of the VAR but will never comment on incidents it requires, either in favour or against.”
