Former Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic has had an interview with The Sun. He discussed many things regarding his career and his transfers which took him from Dinamo Zagreb, to Inter, to Real Madrid, and finally to Chelsea.

He mainly cited his lack of playing time throughout his younger years at Inter and Real Madrid, where many of his appearances came from the bench.

“I was only 18 when I went to Inter, and at 21 Real Madrid believed in me enough to pay for me to join them. Maybe it all happened a little too quickly and I should have been more patient as I wasn’t able to play as much as I wanted to.

“When I got little time on the pitch and was forced to sit on the bench, it was very difficult for me, but now I’m much more involved in Chelsea and this has helped me as a player.”
