Inter coach Luciano Spalletti has been given a one match touchline ban by the Lega Calcio following his sending off from the sidelines in Saturday’s match at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris against Sampdoria after Marcelo Brozovic scored the winner in the 93rd minute according to Italian TV channel Sky Sport Italia.
It was after the Croatian international midfielder’s goal that the former Roma coach celebrated by shouting into the camera but the Fourth Official was standing next to the camera and interpreted Spalletti’s shouting as an attack against him and informed referee Marco Guida at which point the referee sent the Inter coach to the stands.
According to the ruling Spalletti is suspended for “in the 49th minute of the second half, immediately after a goal, having assumed a polemic attittude towards the Fourth Official, coming out of the technical area.”
This means that Luciano Spalletti will not be able to coach the team from the sidelines tomorrow night when Inter host Fiorentina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, with kick-off scheduled for 21.00 CET.
