Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo was interviewed by Inter’s Media House for the official match day programme for Inter’s match with Fiorentina in a few hours time.
The Italian firstly spoke on his transfer to Inter and desire to always give his all no matter what he was doing.
“I chose Inter because it was full of champions at the time and I presented myself with the desire to do well and give everything I could whether that be at Appiano Gentile, during the game or just everywhere.”
Toldo, who played for Inter between 2001 and 2010, then spoke on participating in the Champions League, a competition he won while on the books of the club as part of the famous triplete success.
“The Champions League is like playing for the national team, it makes you shiver. You have the opportunity to show how much you are worth and there are a few shortcuts because the strongest side wins. I get goosebumps just thinking about the San Siro on those nights.”
Toldo concluded the interview by discussing the phrase, “Once an Interista, forever an Interista.”
“We coined it at Inter Forever and it is more than just a slogan. It is a way of making our story go on. Our values and our history are a precious asset, and we, who have worn and defended these colours, have a duty to pass it on to everyone, especially the younger ones.”
