Despite a poor second half and a less than average performance, Inter amangd to record their first win at home at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the Serie A this season after defeating Fiorentina 2-1.
It was a day of firsts at the San Siro as Mauro Icardi scored his first Serie A goal of the season from the penalty spot after referee Mazzoleni used the VAR to decide that Fiorentina defender Vitor Hugo’s handball was serious enough to warrant a spot kick.
The Inter captain made no mistake nor did he make a mistake when assisting Danilo D’Ambrosio midway through the second half when playing a one-two with the Italian international full-back who gave Inter the lead again after Federico Chiesa equalized in the beginning of the half.
