In an interview with Inter TV post-match, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti analysed Inter’s performance in the 2-1 victory over Fiorentina at San Siro.

“In my opinion we did very well, but were not so good in possession, we lost a lot of balls and Fiorentina then created many problems for us, making us lose a lot of energy. We were on the pitch to win the game, even conceding the goal, we risked something, but it must be said that they scored a quite random goal, they are a good side and very strong. We gave them a little too much room to dribble when we did not have to, but we created many opportunities and we converted two of them.”

In the first half there were a lot of high balls and Spalletti explained the reasoning behind this.

“They opened up and pressed us and when we managed to make high balls, we found space in the wide areas, the problem was losing the ball and going to win it back because they play well with their three and a half defenders.”

Spalletti then spoke on the next game against Cagliari before concluding the interview by speaking on the multitude of different goalscorers Inter have had this term, with Danilo D’Ambrosio the latest different player to score.

“I behaved well tonight and so I’ll be there! There are lots of games, but we have experience and we want to make it count for Inter.

“The team has these qualities, and this year they have also increased, and so it is double happiness for me.”
