Sooner or later Mauro Icardi will extend his current contract with Inter through to the end of the 2022/23 season given Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio and his agent and wife Wanda Icardi can reach an agreement as per Corriere dello Sport.

Talks – which were held over telephone – over a new contract first date back to June and Ausilio and Wanda first met in the flesh to hold talks last week.

Inter are looking to raise Icardi’s salary up to the €6 million mark and his contract will also include a series of bonuses, similar to those that are in his current contract.

Reports have suggested that Wanda is looking to secure an €8 million deal for her husband but for the time being, Ausilio has no intention of raising the offer of €6 million.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to conclude that Icardi is in no hurry to renew his contract at San Siro due to his desire always of staying in Milan with the Nerazzurri remaining.
