The Brazilian was set to start ahead of Stefan de Vrij against Fiorentina but an inflammation to his left ankle during the final session before the team Coach was due to leave Appiano, forced him to sit out. The Nerazzurri staff did not know the extent of the injury and therefore made the cautious decision to give him a personalised training routine yesterday. However, today an answer will be given on whether or not he will need to sit out against Cagliari as well.
The Nerazzurri’s crazy fixture schedule continues, with another three games over the course of one week and so everyone’s fingers will be crossed in the hope that the damage is only minor and that Miranda will be able to allow one of de Vrij or Milan Skriniar to rest at some point.
