Ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A clash at the San Siro between Inter and Cagliari, the Nerazzurri have published an article on their webpage detailing all the stats going into the match.

  • All of Inter’s 8 goals in Serie A  have been scored inside the penalty box, including a penalty from Icardi in the most recent fixture against Fiorentina at San Siro. No team has scored as many goals through midfielders (five) as Inter.

 

  • Mauro Icardi has scored six times against Cagliari in Serie A, including four goals in his past three matches against the Sardinians. That also includes the most recent meeting which was a 4-0 win for Inter in April 2018 at San Siro. Ivan Perisic has scored three goals in four against Cagliari, he’s only scored more against Chievo (five) in Serie A.

 

  • Antonio Candreva has scored three times in Serie A against Cagliari, all of these were in home matches but none for Inter. Keita Balde has found the net twice against Cagliari which makes the Sardinian side one his favourite to play against. He’s only scored more against Palermo and Fiorentina (three). Roberto Gagliardini’s first Inter goal in Serie A was against Cagliari in March 2017.

 

  • Marcelo Brozovic is the player who has made the most passes in the opposition half with 325. Almost 100 more than Allan who is second on 227. One of Kwadwo Asamoah’s twelve top flight goals came against Cagliari in May 2009 for Udinese. For Matìas Vecino, he made nine appearances and scored twice for Cagliari during the 2013-14 season. He also scored one of his twelve Serie A goals against the Sardinians, in March 2015 for Empoli.

 

  • After making his 100th Serie A appearance in the last match, Stefan De Vrij is now looking to score his tenth goal in the competition. Radja Nainggolan played 131 times and scored seven times in Serie A for Cagliari, in seven previous fixtures against them for Roma, he was never able to score against his old team.
