Sime Vrsaljko finds himself struggling to recover from his knee injury and the process has been taking longer than it was originally expected.
The Croatian international full-back sustained this knee injury twenty minutes in the Nations League match against Spain on September 11th. In today’s official pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match against Cagliari, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti confirmed that the recovery has taken longer than expected, even after expecting him to play in the last couple of matches.
According to FcInterNews who were present at Spalletti’s press conference the former Roma coach stated that: “He could not recover before the break. He is almost able to train dynamically, so far he has done more work in the gym. He will now make his way to the field, but we must evaluate. It is a big problem for us because there will be some assessments to be made depending on this. There will be someone, in this case D’Ambrosio, who is doing very well, but that puts himself in a position to become tired.”
Even with the replacement, Inter still face a bit of congested fixture list which could have D’Ambrosio getting tired.
