Asamoah & Vecino To Be Rested As Dalbert & Gagliardini Set To Start For Inter

Even the Corriere dello Sport are confident that Lautaro Martinez will start ahead of Mauro Icardi tonight. Yesterday Spalletti tried him with the trio of Politano, Nainggolan, and Candreva behind him.

“The coach will make the decision this morning, but he is mainly debating on which of the two Argentinians he will start from the first whistle tonight. In order to keep the player’s fitness up, Spalletti will have to rotate certain positions, so it is almost certain that Dalbert and Gagliardini (who are not available for selection in the Champions League) will be starting from the first minute, they will be replacing Asamoah and Vecino respectively. Miranda is well rested and was tried yesterday with De Vrij, but Spalletti still needs to decide between Miranda and Skriniar. Spalletti is really shuffling his cards, he also tried Borja Valero alongside Gagliardini, but taking Brozovic out makes things more complicated for the team. Joao Mario might even have a few minutes tonight if Nainggolan were to get substituted later in the game.

Here is the Corriere dello Sport’s predicted line up for Inter:
INTER (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Miranda, Dalbert; Gagliardini, Brozovic; Politano, Nainggolan, Perisic; Martinez.
