Speaking on radio show Radio Bruno Marte, Italian journalist Marani joined the chorus of pundits who lavished praise on Fiorentina following their performance against Inter at the San Siro.

Marani stated that “I was stunned by Fiorentina in Milan. I saw a brave team which dominated a big side like Inter at their home ground. Viola are now in a period of continuous and constant growth. With that, however, will come greater expectations of Pioli’s men who play beautiful, expansive football.”

The Sky Sports presenter then went on to discuss his favourite individual from the team: Federico Chiesa stating that “in Chiesa, they have a player who is always developing. To be a great player, the only thing he will need to overcome is his own mind. You can see from the play which set up Giovanni Simeone’s chance that he is a player that plays with eyes at the back of his head. I think he is the greatest Italian talent right now.”

Finally, he discussed what the future may hold for Fiorentina: “There are the conditions for a fun season – at the end of which we can draw conclusions. It will not be easy for them to compete with teams that have four or five times their turnover, however. It is not enough to always find new players for the first team, and I think Sporting Director Pantelino Corvino has done a great job in developing the youth sector.”
