Prandelli Unhappy With Refereeing In Inter’s Win Over Fiorentina

Former Fiorentina and Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has joined the chorus of experts who have given their opinion on the performance of the referees during Inter’s match against Fiorentina.

Prandelli was annoyed with the decision to award Inter a penalty stating that “It is very strange when you see a penalty like the one which was awarded to Inter in this match. Even if you watch it a thousand times you cannot say for certain that the player touched it with his fingertip. Furthermore, I am puzzled as to how that was seen but Asamoah escaped a second yellow card. The penalty on (Federico) Chiesa? For me, this was not clear.”

Speaking to Lady Radio, the Italian heaped praise on Stefano Pioli and his young side: “Fiorentina played a fantastic game in Milan, demonstrating order, structure and the desire to win. They are all enthusiastic and many players are doing well, having adapted to the tactical demands of the league. This is a very balanced side. Chiesa is a super player, one of the best I’ve seen in recent years.

“He has personality, technique and imagination – all despite his age. I also like Giovanni Simeone. He fights constantly, has great technical skills and it not obsessed with the goal. He is content working hard for the team in the confidence that the goals will come.”
