Former Italian international midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro reflected upon Inter’s 2-0 victory over Cagliari on Saturday night at the San Siro in an interview with RMC Sport.
“Inter have performed in flashes over the season. The second half in Genoa against Sampdoria was very important while Cagliari put them in difficulty on Saturday night but overall the Nerazzurri have improved as a team,” he explained.
Di Gennaro, who was part of Hellas Verona’s famous 1984/85 Scudetto winning team, then spoke on the importance of Inter’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks and what it has done for the Nerazzurri’s confidence levels.
“They have shown that they are are able to react when in difficulty and when you achieve success you train better and do so with more awareness. The victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League has given the team a big mental boost and boosted their confidence in themselves.”
