Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport dedicated a little space in today’s newspaper to criticize Davide Massa, last night’s referee during the Inter’s game against Cagliari at the San Siro.

According to the report “It is not the first time and we don’t think it will be the last time, Massa was not able to get control of certain players in terms of discipline. After Massa decided that Cagliari’s goal would be disallowed through the use of VAR, he suffered a lot of screaming to his face from Dessena, which he left unpunished. This is unacceptable as it show players that they are allowed to act in this manner and not expect to be punished.”

“Dessena’s reaction to the cancelled goal is inexplicable, he risked a lot as any other referee would have sent him off. The fact that the ball touched his left arm is clear, and the deflection off of De Vrij’s head in front of him is irrelevant.”
