Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic has spoken with Sky Sport to explain why he was present at Inter’s Appiano Gentile training base today.

“It has been a pleasure to be here at Appiano Gentile. I spoke with Luciano Spalletti and Piero Ausilio about our players and their situations. It is important for everyone to protect our players because it is not easy to play lots of games, we have to take care of them, I have to know how they are, especially Sime Vrsaljko.”

Dalic then proceeded to speak highly of Inter midfield mastermind Marcelo Brozovic and Inter transfer target Luka Modric.

“Marcelo played very well at the World Cup, as did Perisic and Vrsaljko, we need them. The best position for Brozovic is in midfield, in a role similar to that of Luka Modric but they can play together. Modric is the best in the world and this year he did everything to deserve that honour. I do not know if he will go to Inter, I only know about Croatia.”
