Samaden: “Inter Will Have A Women’s Team In A Few Weeks”

Inter youth academy director Roberto Samaden has confirmed that Inter will soon follow in the footsteps of many of their Serie A compatriots by launching a women’s team as the women’s game continues to grow across the globe.

“In a few weeks time we will officially have the first female team, we are just adding the finishing touches to it. We will start in the women’s Serie B and we hope to soon be able to play the Milan derby in Serie A,” Samaden said at the Milano Calcio City event.

Samaden continued to discuss the female football infrastructure already within the club and the difficulties of training the players of tomorrow.

“We already have a female youth academy and we have seven teams with 140 players. It is not easy to train young people. Coaching in the youth sector is complicated and it is easy to make mistakes. We need to invest a lot in training, even in coaching courses where the federation has invested a lot in.”
