Danilo D’Ambrosio believes the Inter squad’s strength in depth is one of the key reasons behind their success this season, particularly in the Champions League where they picked up their second win from two attempts against PSV Eindhoven.

“We had a feeling we could win here in Eindhoven, we knew we had the right tools at our disposal to bring home the three points,” he confidently told Inter TV post-match.

The Italian international was however quick to downplay the idea that Inter have a foot in the next round already having picked up maximum points while PSV and Tottenham Hotspur remain pointless in the group.

“PSV press extremely well, but we did well to keep calm after conceding. There are currently no calculations to make as we have not mathematically qualified for the last 16. This year we have two players for each position and the competition within the squad is helping us to do well.”
