There are a currently a number of reasons why Giuseppe Marotta will not become a director of Inter according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

It was recently announced that Juventus would be parting ways with him and that started turning the rumour mill and it has been suggested that Inter could be a next destination for the Italian who has been central to the Bianconeri’s success as they have dominated domestically for the past seven years.

Other reports have suggested that there has been a meeting with Inter but the Milan based newspaper deny that any such meeting has taken place.

Moreover, Gazzetta believe that it is difficult for someone like Marotta, who enjoyed a central role at Juventus, to join the boardroom at Inter because of the structure currently in place at the Nerazzurri. Rather than have one person doing everything, Inter have spread responsibilities across several people in sporting director Piero Ausilio, CEO Alessandro Antonello and CFO Giovanni Gardini.

Finally, Marotta’s high salary makes any potential entry to Inter difficult as it would be outwith Inter’s parameters they currently have in place.
