Former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti has denied that talks have already taken place with Andrea Agnelli in relation to becoming president of the FIGC but did confirm that talks will take place in the future.

“For now, I can not comment on anything because we have not met yet. I am surprised, that is why I want to talk to him and understand why he plans to nominate me,” Moratti said in an interview with Italian newspaper Il Giorno.

The newspaper go on to report that the AIC, the Italian football player association, have welcomed the possibility of Moratti taking charge of the FIGC.

Moratti, should he receive a nomination, will learn his fate on October 22nd when the vote will take place to elect the new president of Italian football’s governing body.

Renzo Ulivieri, Gabriele Gravina, Cosimo Sibilia and Marcello Nicchi’s names have also been mentioned with regard to being the next president and all candidates will become clearer when the list is unveiled this coming Sunday.
