Inter captain Mauro Icardi spoke to Inter TV today commenting on yesterday’s win away at the Philips Stadion in the Champions League group stage fixture against PSV in Eindhoven.

The Nerazzurri captain was very happy stated that “it was a wonderful evening, it was important to do well because of how the group was playing out. After the win against Tottenham at San Siro, we knew that we could go top of the group and we went out to get the three points against PSV as well.”

With his goal yesterday Icardi became the first player since Adriano back in 2005/2005 to score in the first two Champions League matches for the Nerazzurri: “My aim, regardless of goals is to win with the team. If personal achievements follow, fine. But the most important thing is that Inter win and keep doing well as at the moment.”

Inter travel to SPAL on Sunday night in the Serie A before the international break in an effort to try and make it 6 wins in a row: “We’ll prepare for that game in the best way, even though there isn’t that much time left until the match is played. When you win, you always go back to the pitch with a smile and work better.”

In conclusion he was asked to describe his winning goal yesterday stating that: “A got a long ball from Vecino, I believed in it and then I was lucky that the goalkeeper collided with the defender leaving me to go on goal.”
