Inter captain Mauro Icardi spoke exlcusively to ESPN Argentina after the 2-1 win in the Champions League group stage clash at the Philips Stadion against PSV in Eindhoven.
The Nerazzurri skipper was asked about his thoughts on Inter’s performance to which he replied: “We have to repeat this performance. We won despite being a goal down, I have no doubts about the fact that we played better and deserved to win.”
“I always look to do my best. PSV are a very dangerous team especially when they hit long balls into our penalty area. towards the end I went down to help the defence but that is something I usually do” Icardi continued.
In conclusion the former Barcelona striker was asked about his thoughts regarding Lionel Messi’s decision to retire from the Argintinian national team to which he replied: “I don’t think that this is an irreversible decision, he has to return because in 2019 we have the Copa America.”
